You can write to spip@rezo.net with your suggestion, giving lots of details as well as your reasons for wanting such a functionality.

Keep in mind that SPIP is Open Source software and, if you have the skills needed, you can implement the functionality yourself. Indeed, you would make many of us happy by sending us your modified modified version!
