On my first connection to the SPIP private area, nothing works and I get an error at line 1 with some files

This may be due to selecting the wrong format while uploading your files to your web space. Try uploading the files again using a different file type (either binary or text).

Sometimes, the fault lies with us when we upload a new version of SPIP to our public server, and thus the files are unusable (ooops!). Not to worry, we quickly correct our goofs, and a new corrected version will be made available online in a very short time.
